A great week: vExpert, VCI Day and VMworld!

This week has been a good one. Earlier this week, I was notified that I was selected once again as a VMware vExpert for 2013. I was selected in 2012 as well and it’s a great program that VMware has. The community is great and I’ve been able to meet more people just as interested in virtualization as I am. For those unaware, VMware launched the vExpert award program in 2009 to recognize those who evangelize VMware virtualization “above and beyond” their job duties. John Troyer, helped get the program started and has helped it grow over the years. So thanks John for all you do!

I also booked my flight out to San Francisco for VCI Day/VMworld in August. I plan to hit at least 1 day of VMworld as well before coming back to Indy. Due to budget concerns at work, I am paying my own way out there this year. So I’ll be keeping an eye open for any good sponsored parties that might pop up. 🙂 I was unable to go at all last year (moving) after going in 2009, 2010 and 2011 so I’m overdue. I’m a big fan of VMworld in SF over Vegas and I’ve never been to VCI Day at VMworld so I’m excited to meet some fellow VCIs!

If any of my readers are going to VMworld, get in touch, especially if you’re one of my students I’ve had in an online class. I always like to put a face to a name. Maybe we can schedule a meetup or something.
