Ubuntu Live CD with VMware View Client!

December 23rd, 2011 No comments

Ladies and gentlemen, I wanted to put up a quick post and link to a recent blog article I’ve read through about installing the VMware View Client (with PCoIP!) to a live CD. VMware released a client for Ubuntu and it’s a great idea to do this. Imagine the possibilities of having your clients PXE boot an iso with this on it. No more paying Microsoft for double licenses!

An even better solution would be to add some sort of functionality to login automatically so the user has no idea Linux is even underneath. Love it!

VMware View inside vCloud Director

November 18th, 2011 No comments

I wanted to post a link to Brian Wuchners blog.  He’s got a nice write up from our experiences setting up and running VMware View inside of vCloud Director and he writes up why we went certain routes.  Check it out if you’re interested!  If you’re into the whole “inception” kind of thing, it might be for you as well.  We had a lot of fun helping out the Cincinnati VMUG on the lab.
